A river runs through it...
At first I was like "ooh, cool, picture of Deirdre and some other pictures."
While my favorite of this batch is still the one of you, you actually took great pictures of the town/river/scenery--to the point I stopped and admired them. (I'd skimmed and seen lots of reddish/orange roofs and I was ready to be unaffected by them.)
I really liked your outfit and your pose and everything in the picture of you.
The pictures of the river/town/etc...made me curious: What was the noise level like? Could you hear the water flowing, or ambient noises, or...?
My points of reference are NYC, Chicago (?), and "lil criks" in towns in Southside Virginia, versus walking against the current alongside a river/stream. :)
Good grief! You're wasting away! ;-)
Seriously, you look great, and it is good to see a picture of you again.
Anna, I hadn't really noticed the river noises... so it must not have been too loud. I'm thinking about it, and I know I could hear it, but it wasn't covering my conversations--I could hear myself and my friend over the water. Guess that doesn't answer your question too much, but... I never really noticed "water" sounds in Chicago or NYC... hmm, yeah.
Shari, the funny thing is that I've gained a bit of weight. I think I lost quite a bit when I first got here--stress and culture shock.
Anna-- "you actually took great pictures of the town/river/scenery." *Actually?* What are you implying here? (grin)
Heh...what I meant to imply was that I "historically" gloss/skim-over all non-human picture subjects.
I've gotten better about that as I've gotten older...but when I was young, I was really bored with non-people-populated-pictures when I'd have to go through (older) family members' photo collections. :)
...*Sigh* but yeah, "actually" was misplaced in my original comment. And just yesterday I gave my brother a hard time about where he'd put "only" in a sentence....
As for the water sounds, I think I meant that, even though NYC and Chicago(sortof) have big honkin' rivers goin' through 'em, they're noisy enough cities that you don't really hear the water unless you're right on it. But then, in, say, San Antonio, TX, they have their "Riverwalk" which is nice and touristy but you're right beside the river (stream, whatever) and you can hear it pretty well.
You look divine--and that is the most adorable little handbag!!!!!
I hope you're feeling better--I think a bike ride through that area sounds delightful.
It's been pretty warm here, but today is cloudy and a bit gloomy--YAY!
(can't find my damned username--it's Hilary)
You know, the handbag is 100% plastic and it pre-dates France (so it is from mid-2004). Yours is the second compliment I've gotten on it in the last week. It is an amazing piece of plastic...
