Poisonwood Bible and Packing.

By Barbara Kingsolver. Anyone who has traveled for any significant portion of time will appreciate the description of the family setting out for Africa for six months. They have to pack everything they will need in suitcases... which they agonize over until they realize that, although the suitcases will be weighed, they themselves will not. This of course leads to them wearing layer upon layer of clothing--as well as sewing various things into their clothing.

Do I need to say any more?

The day airlines start weighing passengers is the day I stop flying!
Godspeed, my friend. Have a wonderful and uneventful trip home.

Bush joke of the day.....

The Republican Party gathered 80,000 members together for a "surprise" and that surprise was that Bush's staff wanted to show them all that dubya wasn't really stupid. So he walked onto the stage, amid music, fanfares, and such and was asked by the big Dick a question on arithmetic.
"What is 8 times 8?" asked Cheney. "Uhhhhh....ninety?" came the answer. The whole hall erupted in a chant "Give Bush another Chance! Give Bush another Chance"
"Okay," said D.C.,"whats 20 plus 30?" "Uhhhh...49?" And the whole hall erupted with "Give Bush another Chance, Give Bush another chance!"
So, an uncomfortable vice president said, "okay, heres another question, Mr. President, What is 2 plus 2?" Bush thinks quietly for a few moments and says trimphantly "four!"
Then the whole eighty thousand Republicans are stunned for a few moments, then the chant starts again

"Give Bush another Chance, Give Bush another Chance!"

And to everybody watching this....happy fourth of July, and for all us jokers looking for ammunition out there, thanks for giving dubya another chance.

Bill
